This hotel is such a fantastic place for so many diverse, really cool, interesting characters to hang out together. It is a place where rockstars, hippies, families, gays and lesbians all live in perfect harmony. Fire places line the pool. The coolest music is playing morning to night. The rooms are designed perfectly down to the last detail. I love this hotel and will return at least once a year. Such a great place to bring a group of friends.
I only wish they could hire a staff that actually knew what they were doing. Unfortunatly the guy at the front desk was rude upon checking in. It was the worst welcome I have ever gotten from a hotel and started my weekend off in a really bad way. It seems like it would be a fun place to work. So why is everyone so unhappy that works here? The bar manager was breaking down, smoking cigarettes outside my door complaining about her bar and waitstaff. The staff is clueless and lazy. You feel like you are putting them out when you ask for a drink at the pool. And good luck if they ever return. The food is excellent but again the service sucks! Time to cut some of this staff loose.
The staff members are the greatest asset of the Ace Hotel and Spa and they provide friendly and helpful service..They are exceptionally accommodating for dogs and I would highly endorse The Ace as being pet friendly.
the low key attitude and friendly vibe---a great place for people w/out kids who like to drink and the occasional smoke by the pool
music was a bit loud at the pool from time to time----literally had to yell a conversation
We absolutely loved staying at the Ace Hotel. We have been to the hotels in Seattle & Portland so we already knew to expect great style and comfort. I loved all the little details in the rooms, they really thought of everything. Loved that it was pet friendly, our dog had the best time.
I love the aesthetic!! I feel like I walked into the early 70's California Style. Very Unique vibe, and love it-the pools and music, the fireplaces, the food...the laid by groove of it all... I've stayed at other ace Hotel locations, and liked them all - however I must admit, this one feels most like home. The Hostess, Linda, at King's Highway is the pièce de résistance!!
The poolside service left much to be desired-45 mins for popcorn...really?!!. Also, would prefer all inclusive rate, no hidden fees. However, now that I know, I can add those in myself in the future. Just don't see the point in not putting it all up front to guests.
The decor of the hotel was definitely very 1960's-esque. Some patrons even matched the decor, with their hippie style and old cars. The drinks were amazing - specifically the Facial...it's a cocumber, mint drink (alcoholic of course). Within the room, the bed was large and comfy and they provided good quality shampoo, conditioner and body wash. They all came in big bottles with pumps so you didn't have to worry about rationinig for all the people in the room (I typically do that at other hotels that only give the little bottles).
The service was not particularly good, considering we paid a total of 245 for one night. We had to ask for towels 4 times before we actually got them. Also, we asked for directions for Desert Hills Outlets and the frontdesk man printed us out directions to the middle of nowhere. The pool was extremely packed. The pool is open to outside guests and there is no preference for Hotel Guests over outsides for lawn chairs. Therefore, you must get there before 10 am if you want to get 2 lawn chairs side by side (or come after 4 pm when people start leaving). The price of outsiders coming it is cheap, meaning that you'll end up meeting lots of Jersey Shore type people, mingled amonst the Hipsters. Overall, it's not a good value.
Menu, food and drinks by the pool/at the restaurant were very good.
We were encouraged by the staff to come to the hotel after asking if this was a place for privacy and quiet. It featured neither.
design of the hotel: modern 60s style. loved the restaurant and breakfast.
music was too loud. went on until 2 in the morning. this is a hotel for a party-crowd 20-30 year olds. don't come here if you want a relaxing time. this is a party-place.
The hotel design was great and original, everywhere was clean.
We decided to stay two nights, and switched rooms after our first night. We checked into the second room where I immediately found a crack in the bathroom door. I notified the hotel staff immediately, where they came and inspected it. They told me the maid staff did not report it on the previous guest "so I must have done it.". They charged me an extra $100 for the damage which I did not cause. This is outrageous. I'm dealing with my credit card company right now
Comfy beds and clean room
Resort fee!!!!!! include this in the room costs or ditch it! its a hotel with facilities you either offer these or you don't. Reception staff did not seem bothered about being disturbed at 3.30am for toilet roll when i mentioned it. Room not ready when it says. Beware! what you book on here will cost you double when you check out with taxes and the resort fee, parking is not free as stated this is also in the resort fee! Pools to small bar to small, generally over promised, underwhelmed.
Fourth time at the Ace. Service quality is imbalanced - some employees rocked with their service - others were cold and rude. King lounge - great room type, ample space. Loved the big room and quaint private patio. Had a blast at the Ace. It is for sure a diverse, party hotel. Traveled with about 12 friends - everyone had a great time.
Some employees are less than desirable in their service quality. Saturday night by the pool was over run from a party at the bar and most of the people around late at night were not hotel quests that left a terrible mess at the pool (which they did clean up by morning). The Ace is not cheap - except for the food - which is fairly priced and good quality. One canvas wall in our room should have been replaced - it had some wear and tear.
The aesthethics were great and the atmosphere was excellent.
Wifi worked well
Too much of a partyplace. Music and noise from pool-area almost around the clock. Persons older than 18 should think twice before booking.
Fireplace room, location, pool
Restaurant, expensive drinks, bed
Great cool vibe around the pool. Excellent staff . Nice rooms .would stay again when in palm springs
